1 of 25Abortion Rights Protests: Photos After Roe V. Wade Is Struck Down
The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the landmark abortion rights decision, Roe V Wade, has arrived. The highest court in the nation struck down the precedent on abortion rights on Jun. 24, 2022, nearly two months after a leaked draft decision made the rounds.
Rallies around the country began almost the moment the draft decision leaked. Here, pro-choice demonstrators rally in reaction in Miami, Florida, on May 3 2022. Various signs read “I Stand with Planned Parenthood,” “Bans Off Our Bodies,” and “My Body My Choice.” A participant powerfully raises a sign over their head that reads “Never Going Back.” The sign has a coathanger placed in the center, representing a method in which unsafe and often fatal abortions are performed when they are banned.
