MxPx has been one of the biggest names in punk rock since the melodic bass strumming of 1996’s “Chick Magnet” captured the attitude of Gen-Xers and Millennials alike. With a timeless sound and captivating songwriting, the band is connecting with GenZ who is growing into their own pop-punk/skate punk attitude.
Formed in the early 1990s, the band has maintained the same lineup — Mike Herrera on bass and lead vocals, Yuri Ruley on drums, and Tom Wisniewski on guitar – since 1995. Chris Adkins joined in 2016 as rhythm guitar, and he could be seen as part of the group’s 2020-2021 livestream series, ‘Between This World And The Next.’ The group started building a buzz with songs like “Teenage Politics” and “Punk Rawk Show.” They became a staple of Alternative rock radio with songs like “Chick Magnet,” “I’m Ok, You’re OK,” and “Responsibility.” As of 2021, they’ve released more than ten albums, the most recent being 2018’s self-titled – which was successfully funded through Kickstarter.
