What inspires your artwork?
I am inspired by the natural beauty of British wildlife and the landscapes they inhabit. I spend hours observing and photographing the animals in their natural habitats, and this gives me a deep appreciation for their beauty and character.
How did you get started as a wildlife artist?
I have always been interested in art and nature, and I studied fine art at university. After graduation, I worked as an illustrator and graphic designer before deciding to focus on wildlife art full-time.
What is your favourite animal to paint?
I love painting all animals, but I have a special affection for birds. Their plumage and behaviour are endlessly fascinating, and they make great subjects for my artwork.
What can people do to help protect British wildlife?
There are many things we can all do to help protect British wildlife, from supporting conservation charities to making small changes in our daily lives. For example, plant native flowers to provide nectar for pollinators, reduce your use of plastic, and avoid using pesticides and herbicides in your garden.
How do you create your artwork?
I work with a range of media, including acrylics, oils, and watercolours. I begin by making detailed sketches and taking photographs of my subject in its natural habitat. I then use these references to create a detailed painting, which can take many hours or even days to complete.
What do you hope people take away from your artwork?
I hope that my artwork inspires people to appreciate the beauty of British wildlife and to take action to protect it. I also hope that it raises awareness of the threats facing our native animals and encourages people to support conservation efforts.
Do you sell prints of your artwork?
Yes, I sell limited-edition prints of many of my paintings. These are available through my website or from selected galleries.
