‘Sex and the City’ was a popular series that ran on HBO from 1998-2004. The series skyrocketed actresses Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall to prominence and earned a slew of Emmy and Golden Globes during its initial run. The series’ popularity was so strong, in fact, the series was follow-up into two films. The first was released four years after the series’ finale in 2008 and the sequel was released in 2010. A spin-off series, ‘The Carrie Diaries,’ was also created to generate interest from a new generation of fans that never gained prominence. Plans were initially made to make a third film, but ultimately fell through in 2017 – when the film was officially cancelled to move into production. Still, the series’ left an indelible impact on viewers, creating some of the most fascinating conversations about sex and relationships, and, of course, creating memorable moments for fashion.
